Aims and objectives
Content
The main contents are:
- Darwin and his theory of evolution, especially human evolution;
- the basic terms of ethics;
- the question of human nature;
- the functions of rules and morals;
- the concept of the Anthropocene;
- Hans Jonas: ethics of responsibility.
Learning activities
Throughout the sequence there is a great variety of learning activities: analysing films, filling in worksheets, class discussion, reading and analysing primary texts, scenic performance, debate, analysis of images, brainstorming, mindmapping, the analysis of a graphic novel, intuitive problem solving, writing assignments, and an excursion to the Deutsche Museum in Munich.

Grouping / classroom
Students work individually, in pairs, groups and the whole class.
