The students practice the analysis of an image, the transfer of knowledge, the intutitive development of solutions to problems, as well as rational discourse and reflection.
A Global State of Nature!?
This paper describes a lesson in grade 11 that deals with the problem of a higher-level state of nature of sovereigns according to the state theory of Thomas Hobbes and the speculative development of problem solutions by the students. In addition, the lesson is integrated into a longer sequence of lessons with the general topic "from the state of nature to world domestic politics".

Aims and objectives
Learning activities
The students deduce the problem of a higher-level natural state of the sovereigns according to the theory of Thomas Hobbes by using an image impulse. For this, they employ the phenomenological as well as the hermeneutic method. They develop measures for solving the problem in a self-directed and intuitive way and visualize them by intuitively/creatively redesigning the image impulse. They discuss their individual ideas with their neighbours (think-pair-share method), before they finally assess and discuss each other's ideas in the complete group.
